Approximately 160 published papers, articles or chapters, 60 of these in scientific journals. The majority prior to 1987 were on aspects of neuroendocrinology or animal husbandry; since then mostly on animal stress in relation to immunity, health and welfare. Many were on animal behaviour, in the last decade dealing with aspects of cognition which arose from the biological research of Maturana and Varela. Since 1991 this has included papers on aspects of human cognition and behaviour, particularly related to communication and education. Representative papers are listed below:
