A big thank you to everyone that came and for al your donations, we real y appreciate your continued support! Scholastic Books You should have received a scholastic book leaflet with your newsletter. Please return al orders by Friday 11th February, cheques should be made payable to Play-Days Corporation Ltd. We receive 20p for every pound spent which goes towards new books. Use of Language On a few occasions when staff have been speaking to parents it has been felt that some inappropriate language has been used, especial y as it has been in front of children. We do not want to offend anyone but we ask that you are mindful of your language, we obviously don’t want children going home repeating things! Swine Flu It is a common occurrence for children at nursery to have runny noses, coughs and colds but if your child is real y unwel please keep them at home to stop the spread of infection. The most effective way to stop spreading infection is good personal hygiene, especial y washing hands so we encourage you & the children to be vigilant at this. More information is available online at NHS direct or the Health Protection Agency and we have put up some advice on the information board. Birthdays Over the next few months the fol owing children & staff will be celebrating their birthdays. Happy birthday to you al ! Care Centre Visits Pre-school children went at Christmas to sing carols for the care centre clients, this was real y successful and enjoyed by al . We are hoping to do this more regularly as part of the children’s termly routine as we feel it would be beneficial to their development but more importantly some fun! Pre-School Yoga Just in case the pre-school children haven’t told you we have a yoga instructor once a month to do a yoga class. The children love it when Alison visits and enjoy taking part. The classes offer the children a chance to develop physical y but also mental y, by building confidence and improving concentration. We are hoping to increase this to twice a month soon. Sticker Charts These are proving very successful and we are glad you like looking at your children’s books. However, they do need to be returned straight away so staff can carry on putting in their observations. If you haven’t returned yours yet please do so straight away. Celebrations World Book Day – March 3rd – On this day we would love children to come dressed as theirfavourite book character, hopefully this gives you plenty of time to get creative. Over theweek we will ask children to bring in their favourite story to share with their friends, weshal give you more details closer to the date.
