Step 2: log on to www.futo.edu.ng and click on PG Application or CCE (PG) Weekend
Application or Women, Gender and Development Studies Application.
Step 3: Create your login Account as a New User by entering your First Name, Last Name, mail and
any Password of choice, type in the Captcha characters and click the Submit button.
NOTE: Make sure the email address supplied is valid as your login details would be sent to the
address for future references.
(Remember to download the Referee Report and the Transcript Request forms on the Login
page)
Step 4: With your newly created Login details, Login as an Existing User- on the right pane, then,
click the Login button to display the View Forms page.
Step 5: Click on the New Submission link beside Postgraduate Application or CCE (PG)
Application or Women, Gender and Development Studies Application 2013/2014. Complete the
form appropriately (NOTE: asterisk fields are compulsory). At the end of Page One, click Save to
proceed to Page Two.

Step 6: After completing Page Two of the form, click the Save button to proceed to the e-Tranzact
payment Page gateway. Click on Continue to Payment button.
Step 7: Enter the Confirmation Order and the Receipt Number on yr e-Tranzact receipt in the
appropriate boxes provided, and then click on Submit. You will get an instant message to let you
know if your payment was successful or not. Log out if your payment was successful. An
acknowledgement would also be sent to the e-mail address you provided while filling the form.
Therefore, make sure you provide a valid e-mail address.
DOCUMENTS TO SUBMIT
Candidates should forward the following relevant documents in support of their application to the
Deputy Registrar/Secretary, Postgraduate School, Federal University of Technology, Owerri,
Imo State.
Two photocopies of University degree certificates Two photocopies of NYSC discharge certificate Letters from 3 Referees as indicated in the Form
SUBMISSION OF ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPTS:
All applicants must forward their transcripts to reach The Secretary, Postgraduate School, Federal University
of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria, not later than September 10, 2013. Please note that any
application without Transcript will not be considered for admission.
CLOSING DATE:
The Website will close on September 30, 2013 and all successful candidates will be notified via email.
POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES AVAILABLE AT THE CENTRE FOR WOMEN, GENDER AND
DEVELOPMENT STUDIES (CWGDS) FOR THE 2013/2014 ACADEMIC SESSION.

Postgraduate Diploma Programme

Admission Requirements
The minimum requirements for admission to these programmes are as follows:
Five O’ Level Credit Passes including English and Mathematics HND with a minimum of Upper Credit from any approved Polytechnic or B.Sc. Degree in any related discipline from any approved university
Mode of Study
The PGD programmes will have a minimum residence period of two semesters and a maximum of four
semesters. The programmes will consist of thought advanced lecture courses, seminars and a literature-
based project dissertation on any specialized topic. At least 12 credit units and a maximum of 18 credit units
per semester can be registered. But a minimum of 24 credit units must be earned before a Postgraduate
student can be qualified for award of a PGD.

M.Sc Degree Programme

Admission Requirements
The minimum requirements for admission to M.Sc. Programmes consist of the following:
Five ‘O’ Level Credit Passes including English Language and Mathematics A Bachelor Degree from FUTO or any other recognized University with at least a good Second Class Honours qualification A third Class Degree from FUTO or any other recognized University plus a PGD in Gender Studies. Mode of Study/Duration of Programme
There will be two modes of study, namely full-time and part-time. The full-time programme for M.Sc. shall run
for a minimum of 3 semesters and a maximum of 8 semesters. The M.Sc. programme will involve course
work and dissertation. In addition to being eligible for the M.Sc. degree, a candidate will be required to
register at least 14 credit units and a maximum of 18 credit units per semester; but a minimum of 30 credit
units must be earned before a postgraduate student can be qualified for award of M.Sc.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
Candidates are advised to apply on line following the procedure given below: Step 1: Go to any branch of First Bank Plc and pay a non-refundable fee of Eleven thousand, three
hundred Naira (N11,300.00) for FUTO PGS OR CCE application depending on your interest.
You will be given an e-Tranzact receipt which should contain a Confirmation Order and Receipt Number. (Ensure that you do NOT lose this information).
